Uganda is compact by African standards, but the parks are spread wide. Entebbe to Kidepo is a long day on the road or a short flight. Most trips run west and south, where the forests and the channel are closest together.

The western loop

The gorilla route
Built around Bwindi and Mgahinga. Queen Elizabeth on the way down, then two bases in the south-west, with the option of crossing into Rwanda from Kisoro.

For travellers who want space. The Nile at Murchison, then the long haul to Kidepo, the emptiest park in the country, and the forest at Kibale on the way home.
